Latest Crop Progress Report Shows Nationwide Decline in Crop Condition of Corn, Sorghum, and Cotton

Winter Wheat harvested reached 88 percent, up 3 percentage points from last year and 1 point from the average.

Corn silking reached 88 percent, down 2 percentage points from the previous year and equal to the five-year average. Corn dough reached 46 percent, up 4 points from last year, and 4 points from the five-year average. Corn dented reached 7 points equal to last year and up 2 points from the average. Corn conditions rated 67 percent good to excellent, 23 percent fair, and 10 percent poor to very poor. Last week’s conditions rated 68 percent good to excellent, 23 percent fair, and 9 percent poor to very poor.

Soybeans blooming reached 86 percent, down 2 points from the previous year, but up 2 points from normal. Soybeans setting pods reached 59 percent, down 2 points from last year, but up 3 points from the average.
