With the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), reporting a record 904 million airline passengers screened at U.S. airports in 2024, airports across the nation have been busy and security lines have been long. In fact, TSA’s top 10 highest passenger screening days in the agency’s history all took place last year, so air travel is as popular as ever.
Air travelers can ease their pain and get through checkpoints faster for 2025 trips by taking advantage of a special TSA PreCheck® enrollment opportunity, January 28-31 in Norman.

How to get TSA PreCheck®-approved
The enrollment process is quick, convenient and even faster when the application is completed online beforehand. The in-person enrollment requires that applicants provide proof of identity, proof of citizenship, fingerprints and a photo. IDEMIA offers TSA PreCheck® enrollment for $78, and if approved, travelers get a five-year membership with the program. The program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents.
Following the in-person enrollment appointment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) in about three to five days. The KTN number must be added to flight reservations to enjoy TSA PreCheck® benefits.
TSA PreCheck® was created in December 2011 as a way to provide low-risk travelers with a smoother experience through airport security. It’s a great option for travelers looking to save time. Enrolled members do not need to remove shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts, or light jackets. They also access TSA PreCheck® dedicated screening lanes at over 200 participating U.S. airports nationwide.
“With air travel being extremely popular and because the busy spring break and summer travel seasons will be here before we know it, this TSA PreCheck® enrollment opportunity couldn’t come at a better time for Oklahoma travelers anticipating long airport lines,” said Kelly Pierce, Norman Retail Manager for AAA Oklahoma. “TSA PreCheck® enables identified low-risk air travelers to enjoy an expedited and efficient security screening experience.”
TSA PreCheck® is valid for 5 years. In addition, children ages 12 and younger may use the TSA PreCheck® lane when traveling with a parent or guardian who has the indicator on their boarding pass.
Children 17 and under can join an adult with TSA PreCheck® when the TSA PreCheck® indicator appears on the child’s boarding pass. For TSA PreCheck® eligibility requirements and frequently asked questions about TSA PreCheck®.
AAA travel experts will also be on hand to help book flights, hotels, cruises or other travel arrangements, provide travel planning resources, and offer a variety of luggage and other travel accessories to make trips more convenient and enjoyable.
