The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) is set to host the 41st Annual OCA Ranch Rodeo from August 15 to August 16 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Okla. The OCA Ranch Rodeo has twelve ranch team cowboys competing in five
different events that reflect many aspects of daily ranch life.
Despite the fierce competition, the cowboys only earn bumps and bragging rights. They all share one goal: supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation (CHF). The 2025 participating ranches include: A Bar Ranch Ranch, Claremore; Gray G Bar Ranch, Shidler; Buford Ranches, LLC, Hominy; Stuart Ranch, Waurika; Drummond Land & Cattle, Pawhuska; Daube Cattle Co. and 3C Cattle Co., Ardmore; Lazy Rafter Slash Ranch, Lenapah; Slash K Cattle Co., Walters; Creason Cattle, Balko; Trentman Ranch, Pawhuska and Stierwalt Ranch & Cattle Co., Shidler, McPhail Land & Cattle, Mountain Park; Barron-Highsmith Cattle Co. and Short Ranches, Oologah.
“This marks the 41st year of the OCA Ranch Rodeo, and our mission remains the same: cowboys coming together to make a real difference for Oklahoma kids,” said Michael Kelsey, OCA Vice President. “Over the 40 plus years of our Ranch Rodeo, we have raised over $700,000 for the CHF. We look forward to building on that total this year!”
The event is also known as ‘Cowboys Helping Kids’ due to the OCA Ranch Rodeo’s longstanding relationship with CHF. The CHF funds medical research and treatments for children located in the state of Oklahoma. The donations raised for CHF in Oklahoma remain in Oklahoma.
