Apply for the 2026 ASA Conservation Legacy Award

This prestigious award recognizes soybean farmers who demonstrate outstanding stewardship by integrating conservation practices that boost both profitability and environmental outcomes to benefit the long-term success of their farm. Examples of eligible practices include but are not limited to cover crops; reduced tillage; nutrient management; irrigation management; diversified crop rotations; buffer implementation; terraces and waterways; and precision agriculture to make more efficient use of crop inputs.

All U.S. soybean farmers are encouraged to apply. Submissions will be evaluated based on excellence in soil, water, input and environmental management, as well as overall conservation and sustainability efforts.

The selection process for these awards is divided into four regions: Midwest, Upper Midwest, Northeast and South. A farmer from each of these regions will be recognized as a Regional Conservation Legacy Award winner at the 2026 Commodity Classic in San Antonio, TX, and one of those four will be named the 2026 National Conservation Legacy Award recipient.

Regional Conservation Legacy Award winners receive:

  • Expense paid trip for two to Commodity Classic, Feb. 25-27, 2026, in San Antonio, TX
  • Recognition at the ASA Awards Celebration at Commodity Classic
  • A feature article on your farm promoted to agriculture media outlets
  • A video produced at their farm showcasing their unique conservation practices

The Conservation Legacy Awards are sponsored by the American Soybean Association, BASF, Bayer, Nutrien, Valent USA and the United Soybean Board/Soy Checkoff.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025.
