Celebrating Leadership in Oklahoma Wheat

At this year’s Oklahoma Wheat Growers Annual Meeting, we were proud to honor three exceptional individuals whose lifelong service and leadership continue to shape the future of our industry.

Terry Detrick received the Service to the Industry Award for his decades of tireless advocacy on behalf of producers at both the state and national level. Terry Detrick has spent more than 40 years championing the causes of farmers and ranchers across Oklahoma and the U.S. From leading major agricultural organizations to shaping policy discussions on crop insurance and youth development, Terry’s impact runs deep. He has served as president of both the Oklahoma and National Associations of Wheat Growers, and was inducted into the AFR/OFU Hall of Honor in 2019. His legacy is marked by unwavering integrity, visionary leadership, and steadfast service to the wheat industry

Keeff Felty was named Mr. Wheat 2025, recognizing his innovative farming practices, commitment to research, and leadership as President of the National Association of Wheat Growers. A fourth-generation farmer and president of the National Association of Wheat Growers, Keeff Felty embodies innovation, advocacy, and service. From his farm in southwest Oklahoma, he has worked alongside OSU on research trials and helped shape national farm policy—including efforts to strengthen the farm safety net and promote trade. Keeff’s leadership continues to elevate wheat producers on the state and national stage, earning him the title of 2025 Mr. Wheat.…

Don Schieber, a veteran and lifelong advocate for wheat, was also presented with the Service to the Industry Award for his global outreach, board leadership, and impact on Oklahoma agriculture. With a career spanning five decades, Don Schieber has dedicated his life to growing wheat—and growing the industry. From humble beginnings watching tractors from a fourth-grade classroom window to traveling to over 16 countries promoting U.S. wheat, Don’s passion and purpose are unmatched. He’s served on nearly every major wheat board, chaired U.S. Wheat Associates, and recently retired from the Oklahoma Wheat Commission after 20 years. In 2022, he was inducted into both the Oklahoma Agriculture and Ponca City High School Halls of Fame. Don’s life is a testament to servant leadership and a love for the land.

We are grateful for their commitment to wheat producers and proud to recognize their contributions. Join us in congratulating these outstanding leaders! 👏🌾
