Choice Boxed Beef Drops $1.35- Closing at $405.85 on Wednesday

Boxed beef values were mixed on Wednesday afternoon. Choice cutout slipped $1.35 to $405.85/cwt while Select gained $3.40 to $383.16/cwt, narrowing the Choice–Select spread to $22.69. Loads totaled 102.   Primal movement was also uneven compared to Tuesday. The Rib eased to $609.92 from $611.97, while the Chuck edged higher to $358.14 from $355.45. The Round was steady-to-higher at $359.89 versus $358.70. The Loin saw the sharpest decline, falling to $496.35 from $505.68. Brisket also slipped slightly to $345.06 from $347.55. Plate held mostly steady at $272.67 versus $272.97, while Flank softened to $237.33 from $238.59.
