
Boxed beef values slid again Thursday, marking the sixth consecutive day of declines and the lowest level since August 15th. Over that stretch, the cutout has fallen $15.22. Choice cutouts dropped $4.85 to $400.79/cwt, while Select fell $3.73 to $379.95/cwt, narrowing the spread to $20.84. Total loads were lighter at 112, down from 136 yesterday.
Primal values were mostly weaker compared to Wednesday. The Rib eased $1.10 to $637.54, while the Chuck dropped $7.79 to $359.03 and the Round slipped $4.14 to $349.76. The Loin gave up $7.26 to $479.86, while the Brisket dipped slightly to $318.89 (–$0.87). The Plate held steady at $254.91 (+$0.43), and the Flank edged higher to $232.84 (+$1.79), the lone primal with a meaningful gain.
