Release:FY26 National Defense Authorization Act

Last week, the United States House of Representatives passed the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This year’s legislation focuses on peace through strength, restoring lethality for our warfighters, improving servicemembers’ quality of life, and saving taxpayer dollars. Specifically, it includes a 3.8% pay raise for all servicemembers, requires merit-based promotions, and includes new funding to counter China.

Congresswoman Bice issued the following statement:

“This year’s NDAA continues the recent trend of refocusing our military on its core mission: defending and safeguarding our nation. This legislation eliminates DEI programs and ensures that promotions are once again based on merit. When it comes to the border, there is nearly a billion dollars to fight drug traffickers, ensuring our communities are safe from fentanyl and other dangerous drugs. In an increasingly dangerous world, the United States military must be ready to face new challenges and counter near-peer adversaries.”
