On September 30th, Congresswoman Bice submitted a letter requesting that her pay be withheld during the government shutdown. During the course of the government shutdown, federal employees are either furloughed or forced to work without pay. Congresswoman Bice will continue to withhold her pay until the government reopens.
Congresswoman Bice issued the following statement:
“I refuse to receive compensation while pay for tens of thousands of Oklahomans is held hostage by Senator Democrats. House Republicans have done their part by passing a clean continuing resolution to keep the government While President Trump is working to ease the burdens of this shutdown, we cannot afford to play political games with the paychecks of my hardworking constituents. Senate Democrats must reopen the government.”
