NOPA Welcomes Stephanie Johnson as Director of Regulatory Affairs

Today the National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) announced that Stephanie Johnson will join the association as Director of Regulatory Affairs, effective December 1, 2025. In this role, Johnson will oversee projects addressing industry priorities and provide technical and regulatory guidance to member companies. 

“I am excited to join the National Oilseed Processors Association and support our members’ critical contributions to energy abundance, food safety, and a strong agricultural sector,” said Johnson. “Energy security and sound nutritional science are essential for our national competitiveness. I look forward to advancing policies that strengthen America’s agricultural economy and enhance our long-term resilience.” 

Johnson has more than 15 years of experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs, and legislative strategy at both the national and state levels. She most recently served as Director of State Energy and Regulatory Policy at the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), advising investor-owned electric utilities on key legislative and regulatory matters and leading outreach to governors’ offices, utility commissioners, attorneys general, and state energy officials. Previously, Johnson served as Executive Director of the Chesapeake Solar and Storage Association, where she led the organization’s strategic initiatives and built bipartisan coalitions across the Mid-Atlantic region. 

Johnson holds a Master of Arts in American Studies from Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Indiana University.
