Boxed beef prices turned higher on Monday, December 1st, snapping a four-session losing streak. The Choice cutout rose $2.07 to $368.89/cwt, while Select jumped $6.83 to $357.88/cwt, tightening the spread to $11.01. Load count improved to 93, up from 82 on Friday.
Primal values were mixed. The rib advanced to $642.00 from $637.12, and the chuck increased to $298.92 from $293.89. The plate and flank also posted gains, closing at $249.41 and $182.20, respectively, up from $247.01 and $179.94. Meanwhile, the loin eased slightly to $476.62 from $476.98, the round dipped to $295.37 from $295.91, and the brisket softened to $325.14 from $325.60.
