Boxed beef prices slipped for the third straight day on Thursday, with both Choice and Select cutouts moving lower. The Choice cutout fell $1.09 to $362.72, while Select dropped $2.80 to $350.32, narrowing the spread to $12.40. Movement was active, with 158 loads reported, up from 140 the previous day.
Among the primal cuts, the rib led the day with a notable jump, climbing $13.47 to $639.54, bucking the broader downtrend. Most other primals softened or were steady: the chuck eased to $287.44, the round dipped to $291.49, and the loin pulled back to $470.80. Brisket, plate, and flank values were little changed.
