
According to the Texas Cattle Feeders Association- less than a thousand head of heifers were reported sold over this past week in the three state region represented by the group. 469 heifers sold for $226.22 on a live basis- up $10.45 from the average of a week ago. No steers were reported sold in the region.
According to the National Beef Wire- “negotiated cash trade has been light on moderate to good demand in Nebraska. Compared to Thursday, live purchases are $5.00 higher at $225.00. The last established dressed trade in Nebraska occurred Thursday, ranging from $340.00 to $345.00. In the Western Cornbelt, negotiated trade has been limited on moderate demand, with a few live purchases reported at $220.00 to $222.00—insufficient for an adequate market test. The most recent established trade there was Thursday, with live purchases mostly at $220.00 and dressed sales from $340.00 to $345.00. Trade in Kansas has been inactive on light demand, with the last established market at $220.00 last week.
