Boxed beef prices moved higher again on Friday, marking the second consecutive day of gains, with Choice up $4.35 to $361.63 and Select up $2.05 to $346.02. Choice is now $4.19 higher than last Friday(December 12th), while movement remained light, with just 98 loads traded, keeping the last two days under 100 loads.
Compared to Thursday, the rib primal led the advance, jumping sharply from $610.96 to $627.44. Chuck also firmed, rising from $301.22 to $305.99, while the round increased to $295.68 from $288.91. The loin eased slightly from $451.76 to $449.75, while brisket strengthened to $326.13 from $322.53. Plate values slipped modestly to $229.46, and flank declined to $161.90.
