
Boxed beef prices moved higher for the third straight session on Monday, December 22. The Choice cutout rose to $362.87, up $1.24 from Friday, while Select jumped $4.67 to $350.69, narrowing the Choice-Select spread to $12.18.
In the primals, the Chuck saw a solid gain to $308.50 from $305.99, and the Round climbed to $299.56 from $295.68. The Loin also edged higher to $450.94, while the Flank and Plate held mostly steady. The Rib, however, eased slightly to $622.75 from Friday’s $627.44, and Brisket slipped to $323.44. Fewer loads were reported on Monday, with 68 total compared to 98 on Friday.
