The Poultry Federation released the following statement by its President, Blake Rollins, regarding the court’s denial of the poultry industry’s motion for stay in the Illinois River Watershed case:
“We are deeply disappointed in the court’s decision. This multi-decade legal effort continues to threaten the livelihoods of family farmers who have fully complied with state law.
The Poultry Federation appreciates the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, the Arkansas Farm Bureau, the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, and the many elected officials who supported a stay in this case.
It is disappointing that Attorney General Drummond opposed a stay that would have provided farmers with stability while the legal process continues. Instead, this ruling creates avoidable economic harm and uncertainty for farm families.”
