ARA Applauds USDA for Advancing Climate-Smart Pilot Program & Including ARA Members

The Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) applauds the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for its consideration and selection of pilot projects through its Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities Program.

ARA supported several of its member companies who were listed as major partners in several awarded grant applications.

This effort will expand markets for America’s climate-smart commodities, leverage the greenhouse gas benefits of climate-smart commodity production, and provide direct, meaningful benefits to production agriculture, including for small and underserved producers.

ARA Senior Director of Public Policy Hunter Carpenter, who leads the association’s public policy efforts related to sustainability, responded to USDA’s announcement:

“ARA is proud to support its participating member companies in finding innovative and voluntary solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, increase carbon sequestration, and to drive sustainability across the supply chain.

“The ARA team and its membership look forward to continuing engagement with USDA on future climate-smart programs.”
