Story:
Holiday
Greetings on This Friday After
Thanksgiving
Many
folks have the day off- and we are doing a fairly
light version of the daily email for you on this
Friday morning- we are spotlighting several items
that happen over the next couple of weeks that we
have listed on our calendar. We remind you
that you can always check out our calendar here on
our website by going over to the left column and
under the heading QUICK LINKS- you will see the
word Calendar which you can click and that will
carry you over to our website and our full
calendar. We are just beginning to populate the
early weeks of 2012 with calendar items- if you
know of something we don't have listed yet- drop me an
email and we will be happy to get it on the
list!
I
wanted to remind you of a couple of TV items for
this weekend- first of all- our Saturday morning
guest on our regular In the Field segment will be
the President of the American Farmers &
Ranchers, Terry Detrick of Ames. You can see
our visit In the Field around 6:40 AM tomorrow
morning on the morning two hour news block of KWTV
News9 in Oklahoma City.
Also
on Saturday morning- the SUNUP folks will have a
special edition of SUNUP this weekend as they
offer a special program they are calling "Quality
Matters." They will be focusing on Oklahoma
production
of hard red winter wheat and how we are doing in

Drought
Retreating in Oklahoma- Only 15% in Exceptional
Drought.
The latest US
Drought Monitor was released on Thanksgiving
morning- and we have the graphic that shows the
really good news for Oklahoma that for the time
being- drought conditions are falling back to a
much smaller part of the state.
For
the first time in forever it seems- five percent
of the state is outside of any drought rating-
while we are down to 15% of Oklahoma in D4- or
exceptional drought. As you might suspect-
that lies in far northwestern Oklahoma and the
Panhandle.
Click here to jump over to our
website for a chance to see the state drought
map based on this week's data.
