In the latest Crop Progress report from USDA, the U.S. Corn Crop is rated 57% Good to Excellent this week, equal to 57% a week ago. Soybean crop conditions are rated 58% good to excellent this week, equal to 58% last week.
The U.S. Cotton Crop is rated 34% good to excellent this week versus 36% a week ago, declining by 2 points. For the U.S. Grain Sorghum crop, the latest good to excellent ratings are 27%, down 1 point from last week’s 28%.
Winter Wheat planting now stands at 17%, compared to 8% one week ago and 18% at this point last year. In Oklahoma, wheat planting now stands at 4% compared to 13% at this point last year. Texas wheat planting is now 21% compared to 12% one week ago and 23% at this point last year. Kansas is now 10% planted compared to 4% one week ago and 8% at this point last year.
Pasture and Range
In the southern plains, Oklahoma pasture and range conditions are now ranked 5% good to excellent, versus 9% last week and 58% a year ago. Poor to very poor ratings are now at 67%, versus 64% a week ago and 13% a year ago.
Kansas good to excellent conditions are ranked at 24% compared to 26% last week and 59% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 39% this week, 40% last week, and 14% a year ago.
Texas good to excellent conditions are ranked 11% this week, 12% last week, and 32% a year ago. Poor to very poor conditions are ranked 60% this week, 58% a week ago, and 28% a year ago.
The 48-state national pasture and range conditions are now at 17% good to excellent versus 19% last week and 34% one year ago. Poor to very poor ratings nationally are at 53% this week versus 51% last week and 36% one year ago.
