Fund the Future Campaign Grows Support for Angus Education, Youth and Research

Angus breeders have been investing in the future of the breed through the Angus Foundation’s Fund the Future campaign over the past four years. In fiscal year 2026, that commitment reached new heights as 28 Angus operations helped generate support for education, youth and research, the three pillars of the Angus Foundation’s mission.

Through annual production sales, consignment lots, bull sales and private treaty offerings, breeders across the country are raising unrestricted dollars for the Angus Fund. These contributions help support scholarships, leadership development opportunities, educational programming and research initiatives that strengthen the Angus breed and the beef industry.

What began with 11 participating operations in 2023 has grown to 28 operations in 2026, representing a 155% increase in participation over the last four years. These 28 donors generated $93,005 in support invested in the future. The continued growth reflects a shared commitment among Angus breeders to invest in future generations and ensure continued progress for the breed.

“The growth of this campaign speaks volumes about the commitment Angus breeders have to the future,” said Jimmy Stickley, Angus Foundation donor coordinator “Every lot represents a breeder choosing to invest in opportunities that will benefit young people, strengthen educational programming and advance research. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership.”

The unrestricted support generated through Fund the Future helps underwrite programs and initiatives across the Angus Foundation’s mission, including leadership development opportunities such as LEAD, educational programming through Angus University and Beef Leaders Institute, scholarships and research projects.

Among those supporting the campaign is Greg Bennett of Katie Colin Farm in Georgia. As a first-generation Angus breeder, Bennett understands the value of creating opportunities for those who follow in his footsteps.

After witnessing the Angus Foundation Heifer Package sell at the National Western Stock Show, Bennett was inspired to become more involved in supporting the Foundation’s mission through Fund the Future donation lots offered in his production sales.

“I thought, ‘This is a great way to give back to a breed that’s so good to me,’” Bennett said.

For Bennett, participating in Fund the Future is about more than supporting programs today. It is about helping secure opportunities for future generations of cattle producers.

“The Angus Foundation is a great way to give back because the youth is what got me into this business,” Bennett said. “We just need something that will allow and encourage young people to continue the operations they’ve grown up on.”
