Heat Stress in Feedyards: Share your thoughts on management

If you’re a feedyard operator, veterinarian or nutritionist, we need your help.   Certified Angus Beef is seeking your input about strategies to mitigate and manage heat stress in feedyards. Your feedback will help identify base efforts for future research and the development of improved tools for feedyards to manage heat stress.   If you are directly involved in the cattle feeding industry, please complete this survey before December 1. It will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.   We ask that the survey be completed by the individual feedyard managers at each location rather than by the sole manager of all the yards for a company or organization to help us gather more detailed data.   This research effort is a collaboration between Certified Angus Beef, the Angus Foundation, Kansas State University and Colorado State University.

At the beginning of the survey, we ask for your consent to participate in this research, and the results will be published in aggregate form. If at any time you do not wish to answer a survey question, you may skip to the next question without terminating the survey. Responses are anonymous; all procedures have been approved by the Colorado State University Institutional Review Board.

If you have any questions about the survey, or research objectives, please contact a member of the research team (Dr. Lily Edwards-Callaway, Lily.Edwards-Callway@colostate.edu; Dr. Sara Place, Sara.Place@colostate.edu; Dr. Anthony Tarpoff, tarpoff@ksu.edu).
