CHS Provides Tools to Empower Farmers to Make Successful Decisions

Listen to Cheyenne Leach talk with Tim Swanson about what CHS can do for ag producers.

Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Intern, Cheyenne Leach, got the chance to visit with Sales and Development Manager at CHS Inc., Tim Swanson, at the National Association of Farm Broadcasters Convention in Kansas City. Leach and Swanson talk about Swanson’s role within CHS, and services CHS can provide to producers.

“We really take pride in working with the growers,” Swanson said. “We are a farmer-owned company. Just all aspects. We have different energy divisions, grain divisions- I am on the agronomy division.”

Swanson said he recently moved over the wholesale side of CHS, but he still interacts with growers often to bring them the best products to help them succeed in all that they do. One way that Swanson says CHS provides farmers with tools to help them do better each year, he said is Agellum– a full-farm planning and management solution from CHS.

Agellum integrates, aggregates, and activates a farm’s unique data from machinery apps, equipment, and more to empower better agronomic and economic decisions through planning, analysis, and collaboration.

“Agellum is our farm planning platform,” Swanson said. “It is really that file cabinet of everything that is going on in the field or on the farm. We can build farm plans from beginning to end and just really lay out our intentions and where we want to end up.”

On the agronomy side, Swanson said CHS has assets spread out throughout the country with the intention of anticipating what products growers will need, such as fertilizers, and crop protection products.
