Farming is More Effective and Efficient with Vive Crop Protection

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with David Reif about what Vive products can offer to farmers.

KC Sheperd, Farm Director, is visiting with the Northern Sales Agronomist for Vive Crop Protection, David Reif. Sheperd and Reif talk about how Vive products help to increase farming efficiency and make the lives of farmers a little easier.

“Vive is a crop protection company,” Reif said. “We create precision chemistry that we use to make farmers’ lives easier and basically taking crop protection inputs from chemicals to biologicals, using our nano polymer Allosperse system to basically make them more effective and more efficient for farmers to use.”

The products Vive offers to producers, Reif said, help farmers become more efficient by taking liquid fertilizers and mixing them with inputs to make a more convenient application.

“That saves potential trips over the top, so you can save fuel, save time, save labor and condenses applications,” Reif said.

The main crops Vive works with, Reif said, are corn and sugar beets, but they are also expanded in potatoes, cotton, peanuts, and most other row crops across the country.

“Most standard crop protection inputs don’t like to mix with liquid fertility, so if a farmer is making an in-furrow application, they can now fertilize and add a crop protection at the same time,” Reif said.

Reif said Vive already has some products labeled and ready to be used on Oklahoma cotton.

“Our brand new one, Averland, which is a nematicide for cotton, goes in-furrow,” Reif said. “It is actually Abamectin based product, and it is the only Abamectin that carries an in-furrow label for cotton, so for growers that face nematode issues, that is a nice convenient application.”
