With Cotton Incorporated’s “Blue Jeans Go Green” program, you can recycle any denim that you no longer want or need to help communities thrive around the country! Just visit https://bluejeansgogreen.org for more details!
In the loop,
out of the landfill
Authentic denim is made from natural, sustainable cotton, which means it can be reworn, refashioned, and ultimately repurposed, creating a truly circular lifecycle. Each recycled piece does good for the earth by diverting textile waste out of landfills and creating new possibilities for our communities. Check out how you can keep your denim going ’round through the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program.
Give old denim
new purpose
When you recycle your old denim through our program, we help transform it into creative new products, from insulating material for building efforts to pet bed inserts to thermal insulation used in sustainable food and pharmaceutical packaging.
RECYCLE BY MAIL
Mail your denim for free thanks to Zappos for Good.*
BOX IT UP
Make sure it’s at least 90% cotton and doesn’t have any hangers, tags, stickers, or plastic attached.
PRINT A LABEL
Create or log in to your Zappos or Amazon account and print a shipping label to include with your denim.
DROP IT OFF
Take your box to your local UPS store (Continental U.S. shipping only), and they’ll take care of the rest.
*You may ship up to 50 lbs. of denim in a single shipment through Zappos for Good (even though the label only says 2 lbs).
Together we’re making a difference
Recycling conserves natural resources, saves energy, and reduces the need for landfill space1, while helping to reduce the approximately 16 million tons of textile waste discarded each year2. For nearly two decades, we’ve been helping reduce textile waste to make a positive impact on our planet.
Every Piece Pledge
Make a lasting commitment to recycling and wearing sustainable clothes with the Every Piece Pledge. It’s a small step and a helpful reminder that denim, made from cotton, can be recycled and transformed to do good for the earth.
Transforming recycled denim
Since cotton is natural and sustainable, when it’s recycled it can be transformed in creative ways.
