Cole Mourns Loss of Tom Love

Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after learning of the passing of Tom Love, founder of Love’s Travel Stops.

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend and fellow Chickasaw citizen, Tom Love. Tom was a superb Oklahoman and American. There are few of his like, and he will be profoundly missed by many.

“Tom was an intelligent and successful businessman, however, always remained humble and grounded. He loved his home state of Oklahoma and never forgot where he came from. Not only was he charitable, donating to healthcare and education initiatives in the state, he also gave his skill and knowledge while serving as Chairman of the Oklahoma Transportation Commission during the Keating Administration. He always wanted to make Oklahoma a better place.

“Tom was the kind of businessman who cared deeply for his employees and customers, always putting them first. He also lived his life devoted to his wife, Judy, as well as his many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family, friends, loved ones and all of Oklahoma are in my prayers as we mourn this enormous loss.”
