House Agriculture Committee Ranking Member David Scott announced the following additions to the Democratic staff of the House Agriculture Committee:
Britton T. Burdick will serve as Democratic Communications Director for the Committee. He most recently served as Communications Director for Congressman Donald Norcross. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Burdick served as the National Press Secretary for One Country Project, a rural policy and advocacy nonprofit founded by Senator Heidi Heitkamp, and as Director of Public Affairs at Forbes Tate Partners. He was raised in Healdsburg, CA, a small town renowned for its viticulture. Burdick earned his B.A. from New York University and an M.Phil. from the University of Cambridge.Michael Stein will serve as Democratic Chief Counsel for the Committee. He was previously Counsel for the Senate Small Business Committee and served with the House Agriculture Committee in the 117th Congress. Stein earned his J.D. and M.S. in Environment and Resources from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was a founding member of the Wisconsin Agriculture and Food Law Society. He started his career on Capitol Hill working on agriculture, energy, and environmental issues with the House Small Business Committee. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Stein worked on policy issues for the Organic Farming Research Foundation, and also gained experience with the Food Law and Policy Clinic at Harvard Law School.
