Congressman Lucas Announces Winner of Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Lucas announced Kadence McCullough, a junior at Stillwater High School, as the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District.

Kadence’s art, “The Manor”, will hang in the U.S. Capitol for a full year, along with other congressional district winners from across the nation.

“I’m thrilled Kadence McCullough will represent the Third District of Oklahoma in this year’s Congressional Art Competition,” said Congressman Lucas.  “I’m always amazed to see the wonderful and creatives pieces of art put together by young artists of the Third District. I know I, and all my fellow Oklahomans, look forward to seeing Kadence’s artwork hang in the halls of the Capitol.”

About the Congressional Art Contest

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors An Artistic Discovery, a nationwide competition for high school students interested in the arts and looking for an opportunity to showcase their creativity. The annual contest recognizes and encourages artistic talent of young constituents across the nation, including those who live in Oklahoma’s Third Congressional District.

Each district winner’s artwork is displayed for one year in the Cannon Tunnel of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
