Federal Emergency Management Agency Designates Muscogee Creek Tribal Lands in Oklahoma as Primary Natural Disaster Areas Due to Qualifying Winter Storms

Non-Tribal Contiguous Lands and Counties Also Eligible; Designation Applies to 18 Counties

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Impacted Area: Muscogee Creek Nation

Triggering Disaster: Severe Winter Storm

Incident Period:        Dec. 21, 2023 – Dec. 25. 2023

Application Deadline: Nov. 3, 2023

Primary Eligible Tribal Lands: Muscogee Creek Nation Tribal Lands within Creek, Hughes McIntosh Muskogee Okfuskee Okmulgee Tulsa, and Wagoner Counties.

Contiguous non-Tribal Lands and Counties Also Eligible:  Non-Tribal Lands in Creek, Hughes McIntosh, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Tulsa and Wagoner Counties as well as the contiguous counties of Lincoln, Mayes, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Pittsburg, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Rogers, and Seminole.
