Transition to Organic Partnership Program Leadership Seminar to take place August 3 and 4 in Bixby, Oklahoma.

The seminar will focus on tools to help producers strengthen their leadership skills and develop the ‘voice’ of their operations.

– Are you an organic agriculture producer or interested in organic certification?  Would you like to develop your management skills while improving your marketing voice and strengthening your ability to work with the media?  If so, then the Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP) Leadership Seminar is for you.

On August 3 and 4 Think Regeneration, a national, non-profit collation of farmer, ranchers, researchers and others is hosting a day and a half workshop program at the Euchee Butterfly Farm in Bixby Oklahoma dedicated to helping organic producers and those interested in organic agriculture production develop the skills necessary to enhance their marketing and networking skills.

This elite workforce development program, free through a generous cooperative agreement with USDA, creates an experience for personal and professional growth, and will be focused on developing skills for organizational leadership, effective communication, problem solving, non-linear thinking and strong relationships. Participants will walk away with skills to help them overcome real-world obstacles involved with organic growing, certification, marketing and sales.  Attendance is limited on a first come-first served basis.

The program for the seminar includes:

• 1.5-days of programming and small-group work

• A defined set of action items to take back to your business/organization

• Gallup Strengths coaching by trained professionals

• Media training by former journalists

• Active problem-solving sessions

• Local speakers/keynotes

• A networking happy hour and dinner (free for participants)

• Two catered lunches

The program will kick off at 9 am August 3 at the Euchee Butterfly Farm located at 140424 E. 171 Street in Bixby, Oklahoma and wrap up at noon on August 4.  Hotel/lodging scholarships are available on limited basis.  Those interested in registering for the seminar can visit https://www.eventcreate.com/e/topp23.  For more information on the event please contact Clay Pope at (405) 699-2087 or claygpope@gmail.com.
