Texas Voters Will Consider Right to Farm in November General Election- TCFA Among the Ag Groups Strongly Supporting Adoption

Ron Hays talks Right to Farm with Ben Weinheimer of TCFA

The right to farm and ranch in Texas is set as Proposition 1 on the November 7 General Election ballot.

One of the groups strongly supporting it’s passage is the Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

On the ballot, Prop 1 will read:

“The constitutional amendment protecting the right to engage in farming, ranching, timber production, horticulture, and wildlife management.”

Oklahoma Farm Report’s Ron Hays caught up with CEO and President of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association Ben Weinheimer while they were both in San Diego for the Cattle Industry Summer Business Meeting- and they discussed the legislation advanced earlier in 2023 in the Texas legislature that has put into place the proposal in November by Texas voters that will add the right to farm to the Texas constitution.

Texas Farm Bureau is strongly in favor of the proposal- click here to see a release from the organization on their support.

The proposition needs a majority vote to pass.
