The 2023 Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation Women’s Seminar, titled “Confidence Meets Purpose,” took place on September 21 in Stillwater, Okla. Following the event, Associate Farm Editor Reagan Calk caught up with OCF Executive Director Mariah Reimer about highlights from the seminar.
A diverse group of women attended the seminar, Reimer said, and had the chance to come together to build up their confidence, make connections and find their purpose.
A group of dynamic speakers, including auctioneer and motivational speaker Joni Nash, Emerge Consulting founder Amie Haar, OSU women’s basketball head coach Jacie Hoyt, and Callison Ranch owner Nikki Callison, offered unique and inspiring messages to seminar attendees.
“They all bring something different to the table, and they all touched on that confidence meets purpose, how to do that, and how to go about it very strategically,” Reimer said. “Something that is different about them is their perspectives, their stories, and what they bring to it.”
Regardless of career, age, or place in time, Reimer said attendees left the seminar knowing they have a purpose that matters.
Updates were also presented by OCF chair Kelli Payne, Farm Credit Association marketing specialist Chancey Hanson, Oklahoma secretary of agriculture Blayne Arthur, OCA executive vice president Michael Kelsey, Oklahoma CattleWomen president Connie Tabor, and Hugh Aljoe with the Noble Research Institute.
Aside from listening to some great speakers, attendees also had access to a delicious coffee bar, a custom hat bar, and left with goodie bags from The Vinedresser Boutique. At the event, there was also a complimentary headshot booth.
“We are hoping every year we will have an annual seminar,” Reimer said. “We really want to hone in on those issues, but we also want to be fun and creative about it. The younger generations, as they come up, we have got to engage them and pull them in. This is a terrific way to do it across all audience types and backgrounds.”
