One Hundred Fifty of the top placing 4-H and FFA members and their animals “Made the Stage” at the 2023 Tulsa State Fair on Wednesday evening. The Tulsa State Fair and the Tulsa State Fair Ringmasters presented over $400,000 in monetary awards to those that were honored at the Ford Truck Arena.
The Grand Champion Market Steer was the top Crossbred shown by Cara Cummings of the Hollis FFA Chapter. Cara received a check for $25,000 for winning the 2023 Market Steer Show. $20,000 was paid out to the Reserve Grand Champion Steer- owned and shown by Kreas Richard of Newcastle FFA.
The Grand Champion Market Barrow was shown by Claire Voss of Chisholm 4-H- Claire won the Yorkshire breed championship and then was selected as the Grand Champion of the show- receiving a $10,000 cash prize. The Reserve Grand Champion Barrow was the Dark Cross Champion- shown by Kaitlyn Dufur of Caddo FFA, picking up $7,500 for her efforts.
Canute FFA claimed the top awards in the Market Lamb division- the Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Clay Randall of Canute FFA and awarded a $10,000 prize while the Reserve Grand Lamb was shown by Sayde Allen of Canute FFA earning her $7,500- both of the top lambs coming out of the Blackface Cross entries.
The Grand Champion Market Goat was shown at the 2023 Tulsa State Fair by Taylor Glover of Elgin FFA- earning top prize in the Meat Goat division of $7,500- while the Reserve Grand Champion Market Goat was shown and owned by Baylor Pearson of El Reno FFA.
Finally- the Tulsa state Fair had a competitive Broiler Show again in 2023- Champion Broiler was shown by Cassi Ray of Clinton (winning $1,500) and the Reserve Grand Broiler was shown by Afton Fuse of Tipton FFA.
