Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released to following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed House Resolution 771, Standing with Israel as It Defends Itself Against the Barbaric War Launched by Hamas and Other Terrorists. The resolution passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support.
“Nearly three weeks ago, innocent Israeli civilians awoke to the deadliest attack on the nation in its entire history, going back more than 70 years,” said Cole. “The brutal attacks and barbaric slaughtering of innocent people, including women, children and babies, have no place in this world. Make no mistake, Hamas is a government-backed, trained and funded military terrorist organization. Hamas must not prevail; the U.S. has a duty to stand with one of our closest, most important allies. I was proud to support this resolution, and it is my hope the House can soon move forward critical emergency assistance in support of Israel and its right to defend itself in full force.”
