Cole Statement on House Advancement of FY24 Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill

Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04), Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 4364, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024, yesterday evening. Cole supported the legislation.

“It is the duty of Congress to remain open and working to serve the American people,” said Cole. “The Legislative Branch Appropriations Act provides a measured funding level for the legislative branch for the coming year of $5.3 billion, 4.7 percent less than fiscal year 2023 levels, while prioritizing resources focused on effective constituent service. This legislation prioritizes funding for the Capitol Police, ensuring they can recruit, train and retain officers to continue to protect the Capitol complex, appropriate funds infrastructure projects around the Capitol and provides support for hardworking staff and federal employees. I was proud to support its passage.”
