Farm Bureau members, counties honored at OKFB’s 82nd annual meeting

Oklahoma Farm Bureau honored achievements and accomplishments of the organization’s members during the past year at OKFB’s annual awards banquet held Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Omni Hotel in Oklahoma City.

Awards were presented to county Farm Bureaus for outstanding achievement in advocating for agriculture and Oklahoma’s rural communities with county star awards, the John I. Taylor Award, the Lewis H. Munn Award and more.

Awards were also given to young farmers and ranchers, members of Oklahoma’s agriculture community, and nine farm and ranch families who were recognized for upholding our state’s richest agricultural traditions.

Awards presented during the evening included:

  • 2023 YF&R Charles L. Roff Award – Ottawa County Farm Bureau
  • 2023 YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award – Jake and Meggie Gibbs, Ottawa County
  • 2024 YF&R Excellence in Agriculture Award – LC and Jaclyn Darling, Coal County
  • 2023 YF&R Achievement in Agriculture Award – Jake and Kelly Decker, Noble County
  • 2024 YF&R Achievement in Agriculture Award – Garrett Haskins – Kay County
  • John I. Taylor Award – Okmulgee County Farm Bureau
  • Lewis H. Munn Award – Garfield County Farm Bureau
  • County Excellence Awards – Ottawa and Comanche County Farm Bureau
  • Presidential Star Awards
    • Six Star Presidential Awards – Cherokee, Comanche, Mayes, Okmulgee, Ottawa, Payne and Rogers County
    • Five Star Presidential Awards – Creek, Garfield, Grant, Greer, Kingfisher, LeFlore, Major, Noble, Okfuskee, Stephens, Texas, Washita and Woodward County
    • Four Star Presidential Awards – Alfalfa, Caddo, Haskell, Jackson, Kay, Logan, Love, Muskogee, Nowata, Oklahoma, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole, Tulsa and Washington County
    • Three Star Presidential Awards – Atoka, Choctaw, Cleveland, Cotton, Hughes, Kiowa, Lincoln, McClain, McIntosh, Sequoyah and Woods County
  • Distinguished Service to OKFB Award – Terry Stowers
  • District Farm and Ranch Families of the Year
    • District One – Jerod and Julie McDaniel, Texas County

The Oklahoma Farm Bureau Annual Meeting is the organization’s largest gathering of farmers and ranchers every year. At the event, members vote on grassroots policy, elect leaders and award outstanding individuals.
