The Oklahoma Ethics Commission is excited to announce, introduce, and welcome its next Executive Director, Lee Anne Bruce Boone. She will be the 4th Executive Director to serve the Oklahoma Ethics Commission since its creation in 1990 following Directors Marilyn Hughes, Lee Slater, and Ashley Kemp.
Currently serving the State of Oklahoma as the Chief Accountability Officer with the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Bruce Boone is committed to the integrity of the mission of the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, and is excited to build relationships with those she will serve in the areas of campaign finance, the legislature, state officers, and employees.
She values a results-oriented environment, and utilizing educational opportunities to build awareness and develop rapport with those communities. Bruce Boone provides: “Striving to ensure accountability to ethical guidelines takes a measured approach, and by working proactively to establish a customer-service oriented workforce we will help to educate those regulated by the Ethics Commission. This is a critical role to all Oklahomans to ensure rules for the ethical conduct of campaigns and the public actions of state officials and employees are enforced, but with fairness and a focus on proactive continuous improvement.”
Bruce Boone’s first day with the Commission will be January 4, 2024.
Lee Anne Bruce Boone
Bruce Boone is an experienced attorney with both organizational management skills and investigative expertise. In her current position, she coordinates audits and investigations, as well as performs risk management review for OSDH. Previously, Bruce Boone has served as Chief of Staff at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services where she steered strategic planning and the development of key performance indicators for greater transparency, as well as assisted with the development of an executive leadership learning program. Bruce Boone also has extensive experience in fiscal management, coordinating the administration and allocation of financial resources to align with agency goals and increased needs in operations. She oversaw legislative affairs while working in Oklahoma and Tennessee, and collaborated at a high level with both federal, state, and local partners.
