Hay Sales still Slow and Steady Across the State

Compared to the last report: The hay trade is slow to steady. Oklahoma has seen more movement compared to the past week. With minimal hay trading, we still have a larger hay inventory than usual. Which has caused the hay movement to be slower than in years past.

Trends:
Alfalfa Large squares $180-$200 a ton
Alfalfa Rounds – No Trend
Grinding hay – No Trend
Bermuda 5×6 rounds – $70-$100 a bale
Bermuda Large Squares – No Trend
Grass Hay 4×5-4×6 – $60-$70 a bale
Grass Hay 5×6 – $70-$80 a bale
The Oklahoma Mesonet Drought Monitor shows we are at 0 percent in exceptional drought, 1.15 percent in an extreme drought, 13.38 percent in severe drought, 32.29 percent in moderate, 57.68 percent in abnormally dry conditions, 42.32 percent that has no drought conditions.
