Bob Rodenberger Expects Good Demand Next Week After Weather-Related Auction Shutdowns

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with Bob Rodenberger about the latest in the cattle markets.

Farm Director KC Sheperd is back talking with Bob Rodenberger, a partner with Stockman Oklahoma Livestock, as he gives the latest on the cattle markets.

Although the weather was not ideal, Rodenberger said there was a sale at Apache, and runs were just shy of 1,000 head.

“We had a lot of good cattle, and had a lot of demand, and had an excellent market,” Rodenberger said. “This time of year, you can’t out-guess the weather.”

Because of the shutdown at Oklahoma National Stockyards this week, Rodenberger said he expects runs to be adequate with good demand next week.

“On days like last Monday, we might have had 150 to 200 cattle,” Rodenberger said. “It was a good idea to shut down. I think the management made good decisions.”
