Severe Weather Including Severe Winds, & Large Hail a Possibility

Springtime has arrived in Oklahoma and with that Severe Weather is also upon us. According to State Climatologist Gary McManus, “This doesn’t appear to be a high- or even medium-end severe weather event, but it is sorta our first of 2024,
at least this broad of a threat. And the tornado threat is very low, but not zero.”

McManus said if we do see some rain, it will be a welcome sight as we are on the verge of a flash drought.

Looking at the drought monitor Map for this week McManus said we are seeing a bit of an increase in “Abnormally dry conditions” signifying the possibility of drought should rain not fall pretty soon.

McManus reminds everyone to stay alert today, “Tune into your favorite media source and avail yourself of
their storm trackers, and plug into your local NWS office for the most up-to-date info, watches and warnings.”
