Bob Rodenberger says Cattle Markets Continue Strong this Week with Seasonally Lighter Runs

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with Bob Rodenberger about the latest in the cattle markets.

Farm Director KC Sheperd is back talking with Bob Rodenberger, a partner with Stockman Oklahoma Livestock, as he gives the latest on the cattle markets.

Rodenberger said runs this week were lighter than the past two weeks, but the markets have been great. He added that a few places received some good rainfall this week, which adds to producer positivity.

Some places have good soil moisture, but Rodenberger said there will need to be much more rainfall to fill ponds.

“I don’t think we are going to see any big runs until we get to the end of April, and there is not a tremendous amount, but there is plenty of May cattle coming off of this graze-out wheat,” Rodenberger said.

There has been plenty of good wheat available, so Rodenberger expects those calves to look good and fleshy.
