Cole Attends Midwest City Industrial Rail Spur Groundbreaking Ceremony

Today, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) released the following statement after attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the upcoming Midwest City industrial rail spur projects. This comes after Congressman Cole secured $3 million in government funding for the projects as a part of the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations package.

“I am very proud to announce that I was able to secure $3 million for Midwest City to execute important rail spur projects. These rail projects will give the area a major economic boost, which will greatly benefit the two industrial development sites located adjacent to the short line railroads, as well as create more jobs in this part of the city,” said Congressman Cole. “I am very excited to have obtained this historic funding for these projects, and I cannot wait to see the impact it has on the community.”

“The approval of this funding is a direct result of Congressman Cole’s work to help our community,” said City Manager Tim Lyon. “We’d like to thank him for working so tirelessly for us. The American Glass and Centrillium developments are key components to our growth in Midwest City and we’re excited that these funds could help us quickly fulfill our commitments to those projects.”    “Thank you to Congressman Cole for his continued support of our city,” added Midwest City Mayor Matt Dukes
