Cole Announces Changes to His D.C. Staff

Today, Congressman Tom Cole (OK-04) announced new staff changes to his D.C. staff.

With Congressman Cole’s current Chief of Staff beginning a new role with the House Appropriations Committee, Will McPherson will be promoted to become Congressman Cole’s Chief of Staff. Will, a University of Oklahoma alumni and former Governor Fallin staffer, started his career in Congressman Cole’s office in 2015 as a field representative for the northern part of the Fourth District of Oklahoma. Then in 2019, he was promoted to District Director and served in that role for four years. In early 2023, Will moved to Washington, D.C. and was promoted to Congressman Cole’s State Policy Advisor.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Will for many years. His success in all his various roles in my office, particularly as a policy director in my D.C. office, cannot be overstated enough. He has been a reliable, dedicated, knowledgeable, and invaluable member on my staff, and I am certain he will demonstrate these same skills as my Chief of Staff,” said Congressman Cole. “As I continue my role representing Oklahoma’s fourth district here in Congress, I have substantial work to do. I need the finest staff there is to ensure I am delivering for the American people – I am confident Will is up for this important task.”

“I would like to congratulate my good friend and colleague, Will, on his promotion. Will’s knowledge of both Congress and Oklahoma’s fourth district is unmatched. In fact, he will be the first Chief of Staff for Congressman Cole that has begun as an intern and worked his way all the way up to the top post – proving his dedication and hard work. He is truly a diligent and trusted team player, and I am so proud to have him succeed me as Congressman Cole’s Chief of Staff,” said former Chief of Staff, Josh Grogis.

Additionally, Harper Pickering joined Congressman Cole’s D.C. staff as his Legislative Correspondent in February. Harper previously served as the Staff Assistant for the House Rules Committee.

“Throughout his time working at the House Rules Committee, Harper demonstrated he is an incredibly hard worker, who is passionate about the issues that matter. He brings invaluable knowledge and experience from his time with the Rules Committee to my team. I am confident in Harper’s ability to be a successful Legislative Correspondent and I am excited to have him on my staff,” said Congressman Cole.
