NEW: Pork & Partners Program Connects with Health Professionals

Pork and Partners, a community for nutrition professionals, was launched by NPB last week to build strategic and mutually beneficial relationships with health professionals, to help build their skills and knowledge while being a credible resource.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) present a large opportunity to reach thousands of consumers each year. NPB is committed to engaging with nutrition professionals and promoting the recommendation of lean pork as part of a nutritious way of eating.

NPB has identified human nutrition as an investment priority for 2023, with the board focusing on 3 long-term pillars:

• Stronger scientific foundation

• Relevant, meaningful stories

• Celebrating pork’s flavor, convenience and versatility

The program will be a place for nutrition professionals to get all the facts and inspiration about pork, with the intent to ultimately help more people rethink the possibilities of pork as a part of a balanced diet.

Resources will be shared through a monthly email, better-for-you recipes, research-based educational resources, and continuing education opportunities that are of high value to nutrition professionals.

Additionally, we will provide ample opportunities for networking and speak directly with leaders in the field of nutrition through a series of intimate in-person events.

To kick it off, Kara Behlke-Ungerman, NPB vice president of nutrition health and wellness transformation, was a guest on the Sound Bites podcast to announce the new program and share the many health benefits of eating lean pork.
