It was a busy Thursday at Cattlemen’s Congress with American Hereford Association hosting their National Hereford Pen Show- the Champion Pen of Five is seen above- shown by Sidwell Herefords of Carr, Colorado. The Champion Pen of three bulls was shown by GKB Cattle of Desdemona, Texas. Eight Year Old Mila Perez of Canyon, Texas exhibited the Champion Pen of Three Females.
Over in the OG&E Coliseum, the Super ROV Bull Show for the American Angus Association was held- the Grand Champion Bull was CMFM Solid Gold MO66 exhibited by Cross Creek Farms of Brimfield, Illinois and Circle M Farms of Rockwall, Texas. The bull was bred by Circle M Farms.
Over in the Red Angus ring- the Grand Champion Open Heifer was exhibited by Shaylee Hartman of Nebraska.
After lunch, the second Commercial Heifer Sale was held, with just over 800 females selling for a total of $3,384,250. The offering included pairs, bred and open heifers.
Looking ahead to Friday- the Herefords will hold their National Bull Show at 8 AM and follow up with their National Hereford Sale at 6 PM. The American Angus Breed will hold their Super ROV Angus Heifer and Bull Pen Show in the Performance Arena at 8:30 AM and follow that with their National Angus Bull Sale at 2 PM. Other breeds showing on Friday include Shorthorns, Maine-Anjou and British White.
