Tripp Lewis of Wynnewood Wins Big During JNHE Owned Female Show

Tripp Lewis, Wynnewood, Okla., won the grand champion owned horned female title, and Ella Weldon garnered grand champion owned polled female honors on July 13, at the 2023 VitaFerm.

Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), “Mad Dash to the Hereford Bash,” in Madison, Wis. Brothers Blake Bloomberg, Secor, Ill., and Jake Bloomberg, Berwick, Ill., judged the owned female show. The duo sorted 220 horned females and 551 polled females to find their champions.


Lewis’ grand champion owned horned and division I champion female was BK VC Kissy Missy 2042K ET, an Aug. 17, 2022, daughter of DCF 642Z Dilly 002H. The reserve grand champion owned horned female and champion division IV female was exhibited by Kennedy, Haxton and Hayden Hoffman, Thedford, Neb., with H JPV Miss Pixie 22 ET, an April 8, 2022, daughter of SR Dominate 308F ET.

Weldon’s grand champion owned polled female, Bar C Classy Calista 244, is a March 14, 2022, daughter of T/R BPF AmericanClassic 561CET. She won division VIII. The reserve grand champion owned polled female title and champion division V honors went to Lane Cady, New Windsor, Md., with Dunk FTZS Princess 226K, a May 12, 2022, daughter of H Deberard 7454 ET.


“That’s what the Hereford breed is. It’s a family,” Blake said. “This event is unbelievable, and when you watch these cattle come in, they’re incredible.”


T/R Cattle Company, Glencoe, Okla., sponsored the owned horned female show. Hoffman Ranch, Thedford, Neb., was the sponsor of the owned polled female show.
