2024 Annual U.S. Custom Harvesters Convention in OKC Featured Great Speakers, Vendors and Attendance

Listen to KC Sheperd talk with David Misener about the U.S. Custom Harvesters.

Following the conclusion of the annual convention of the U.S Custom Harvesters that took place in Oklahoma City last week, Farm Director KC Sheperd had the chance to catch up with the president of the group, David Misener, and talk about the highlights from the event and what the U.S. Custom Harvesters are all about.

Misener said the event kicked off with words from Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Blayne Arthur. Following Secretary Arthur, Misener said the convention featured an array of impactful speakers, including Congressman Frank Lucas.

“Our membership is everywhere across the U.S., and we also have members in Canada,” Misener said. “I can also say we had some individuals that also showed up from Germany.”

said U.S. Custom Harvester membership consists of three base entities: custom combining, silage chopping, and cotton harvest. Misener partakes in custom combining, where he begins wheat harvest in Oklahoma and ends in North Dakota.

Like most U.S. Custom Harvester members, Misener covers a lot of territory. After Misener finishes with wheat in North Dakota in September, he travels to South Dakota for soybean and corn harvest.

“We have some members who start in South Texas doing wheat and come up into Kansas and stop their wheat run, then they go back down into South Texas and start their cotton harvest,” Misener said.

Using top-notch equipment with cutting-edge technology, Misener said the U.S. Custom Harvesters can get the job done efficiently and effectively.

Misener said next year’s annual U.S. Custom Harvester convention will take place in Des Moines, Iowa.
