Nominations Sought for Gov. Stitt’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is accepting nominations for Gov. Stitt’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award.

The winner will be inducted into the Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame, which is the state’s most prestigious award honoring distinguished Oklahoma agriculture producers. The Governor’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture award honors leaders in the agriculture industry who exemplify personal values, performance and achievement.

Nominees should have high standards of conduct, leadership, innovation, and accomplishments in agriculture, while also being a role model for Oklahoma agriculture’s young people.

Previous award-winners have represented different areas of Oklahoma, as well as a variety of agricultural groups and commodities. Past recipients have guided their families and communities to success by excelling as dairymen, cattle ranchers, pork producers, wheat farmers, conservationists and educators.

Last year, Bob Howard, a longtime southwest Oklahoma wheat, pasture, and cattle producer, was honored with the 2023 Governor Stitt’s Outstanding Achievement in Agriculture Award and became the 26th inductee into the Oklahoma Agriculture Hall of Fame.

The nomination application is available HERE.

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 8.

The inductee will be honored with a recognition ceremony during Oklahoma Ag Day at the State Capitol on April 16, 2024.
