
Boxed beef closed higher on Monday, marking the third consecutive daily advance. Choice cutout values rose $2.52 to $369.22, while Select jumped $3.57 to $364.31. The Choice/Select spread narrowed to $4.91, tightening from $5.96 on Friday. Movement totaled 75 loads, down from 106 loads at the end of last week.
Compared to Friday, primal performance was mixed but generally firm. Rib values eased slightly to $502.51 from $502.67, while the chuck increased to $320.28 from $318.51. Round prices strengthened to $336.21 versus $334.45, and the loin posted a solid gain to $480.29 from $474.81. Brisket values improved to $299.37 from $293.01, and the plate edged higher to $267.52 from $266.49. Flank prices were reported at $182, up from $180.14 on Friday.
