
Boxed beef values closed lower Thursday, snapping a five-day streak of higher trade. Choice cutout fell $1.34 to $377.89 on 85 loads, while Select gained $3.72 to $370.79. The Choice/Select spread narrowed sharply to $7.10 from $12.16 on Wednesday.
Primal values were mixed compared to Wednesday. Rib dropped $2.55 to $513.81, Chuck declined $3.51 to $328.49, and Round eased $1.50 to $344.31. Loin was higher by $1.06 at $490.55. Brisket was nearly steady at $306.42, Plate slipped $0.10 to $273.09, and Flank increased $2.89 to $188.73.
