The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and Feedstuffs opened applications for the 2026 Feed Facility of the Year program. Applications can be submitted now through April 24.
“The Feed Facility of the Year program highlights the innovation and operational excellence happening across our industry,” said Gary Huddleston, AFIA’s director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs. “It challenges facilities to raise the bar, strengthen their performance and demonstrate their commitment to producing safe, high-quality feed.”
The Feed Facility of the Year program offers numerous benefits for feed manufacturing facilities. Participants receive a comprehensive benchmarking report highlighting performance in key areas, including workplace safety, quality and food safety, regulatory compliance, housekeeping, productivity and efficiency, sustainability, employee development and community and customer relations.
Facilities may apply in one of four categories: commercial dry manufacturer, liquid feed manufacturer, integrator manufacturer and premix/ingredient manufacturer. The AFIA and Feedstuffs will recognize one overall Feed Facility of the Year winner with an on-site award presentation at the winning facility.
In recent years, the AFIA and Feedstuffs have enhanced the Feed Facility of the Year program by donating proceeds to the AFIA Equipment Manufacturers Committee scholarship fund, which supports students pursuing careers in the feed and grain industry. The 2025 program raised over $11,000 for the fund.
The application phase for the 2026 Feed Facility of the Year is now open. Submissions, along with the $250 application fee, are due by April 24. More information and the application form are available on AFIA’s website.
